No Man's Sky continues to absorb Kyle and Simone's life. It runs beautifully on the Series X and is on Game Pass. You have no excuse now. Simone found a broken ship and the way you fix it is really ingenious. It got Lee excited enough to jump back in. Sometimes you have to throw ferrets at things to get it working. 
 
Lee tries out Splitgate and finds it just OK. But then he tries out the Halo Infinite Beta and also just finds it OK. We're beginning to think it takes a lot to impress Lee these days. Yet Wreckfest manages to make the list... So strange.
Kyle is still on Scarlet Nexus and can't gush enough about it. For all your JPRG needs, you have to try it out!

#GameFace! One-Game Kyle

Yarr! T'was talk like a pirate day the other day.
And we missed it, so now we're celebrating. Late! 
 
Do you remember SkiFree? Because apparently Lee doesn't. It's now time to take his gamer card off of him. 
 
Golf With Your Friends causes Kyle to cry, but still manages to have fun with Simone. Looks like there's an achievement hunting streak happening. Even Lee is getting in on it with Forza Horizon 3. He's mopping up the cheevos in that like a pro! 
Simone and Kyle are still going through No Mans Sky. And getting slightly addicted...

#NuNews: Dad‘s Made-Up Cat

It's the news that you care that we care about. If that's confusing, it's your fault. 
And because of it, Lee is peaking duck. 
 
Lee's circle light turned up, so he's ready to start his makeup channel. Let's all support his new hobby! It's going to be lit. Or what about making up his cat? It will probably be better to watch TBH. 
 
The Xbox chart is frustratingly static over the past few weeks. So we're tempted to ignore it until things change! You can now stream your Xbox to your phone, tablet and PC via the Xbox app. Even when you're outside the country! With acquisition rumors swirling, we're thinking of a world where Xbox is the DC box to the competitions Marvel. What a world it would be. Would you pick up a different console because of it? 
 
Kyle as a great idea to bring game cartridges back. What do you think - next gen game changer or flop? Because we think it's great! 
 
Diablo II Remastered headlines this week's releases, which we're a bit scared about. Too many hours of our lives were spent in the original, so this remaster has the potential to turn #GameFace! into #DiabloFace. We're staying away for you! #GameFace! Grabby Bots

There's a lot of excitement around our melted brains... 
 
Lee is looking a lot younger, but you'll just have to believe us. Now we all need to get him to do a studio tour and show off his setup. 
 
Even though we haven't been playing much, we still manage to chat for an hour. Star Wars Battlefront II seems to be overrun with cheaters. Or maybe we're just bad. Lee's been obsessed with Unity to the point where he's purchased a Playstation! We must now shun him! Shun the non-believer! Shunnnnn.

#NuNews: Not Rich Enough To Pronounce Words

Put on your smoking jacket and retire to the drawing room. 
It's time for this week's Xbox news! 
 
The game play charts make us depressed as nothing chances, but No Man's Sky pops in again, joining NBA2K22. Seems a bit cheeky to have the same game in the list twice... EB Games has no Aqua Shift Controllers anymore, meaning Lee can't get a new controller. Apparently deliveries have stopped. Just stopped. But in more fun news, the Elite Series 2 has RGB in the LED light! What a great Easter egg to find. 
 
And this week, we look really forward to SkateBird! Because who doesn't want to be a bird on a skateboard?

#GameFace! Golphine Dang

Lee cleans up pretty well. You'll just have to believe us. 
And Simone responds by trying to burn the house down. 
 
So many games were played this week, we almost needed a spreadsheet. Almost, but not quite. 
There's a fridge that demands some attention and kills people when you stop looking at it. It's a bit extra, but don't tell the fridge. It might freak out and kill us all. Luckily Simone is here to save us. 
After a good ole assassination, nothing goes down quite as well as lighting up your pipe and having a relaxing smoke. You are in Paris after all, so it's just what's done. Assassin's Creed's story confuses us to say the least. 
 
In some exciting news, Kyle and Simone start No Man's Sky and battle to get multiplayer working. The caveat is that they're playing on PermaDeath mode... These are going to some great on-going adventures! Join us as we explore the galaxy.

#NuNews: Chest High Walls and Swords

So many new games, and one will even excite Lee...
 
Rainbow Six Siege is dropping out of the top 10, in what is probably the biggest shake up this week in the charts. Craftopia gets a raving review from Kingsman saying "you smash rocks". Valhalla is getting a short sword, and we wonder how historically accurate that is. The news has been weird this week... Can you tell? 
 
And then this week Xbox execs had to clarify again that Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, and all future Bethesda games are going to be Xbox exclusive, after a quote was taken out of context. Also there are rumours of a big acquisition coming at the end of September... Could it be 2K or Rockstar? What do you think? 
 
This week in Lee explains things - Kyle gets a lesson in why rally car drivers have a passenger yelling out instructions during the race.

A bit of a different NuNews this week as we still struggle with how to how to say plaid... 
 
Is Game Pass the death of the pre-order? 
China is restricting gaming to 3 hours a week, which causes us to wonder a few things. What do you think about it? Destiny 2 should have a "I am back after 6 months" mode where it takes you through a mini-tutorial. Fallout is getting a TV show from the makers of Westworld. 
As we said, it's a bit of a strange week this week. 
 
Xbox is taking break from the heavy hitters this week by releasing a ton of indie games. From Song of Iron (which we love) to Lake (which we love). It's an indie-fest!
 
And don't forget - our next event is #terrorTober, but this month we're all playing The Witcher 3 together. Start looking out for the sales now... And also, give us a name for this event! Because we can't come up with everything...

#NuNews: gamescom '21 Brings the Zombie Hardcore Parkour

How do you say plaid? 
Kyle says play-d and Lee says pla-d... 
 
Xbox took over Gamescom before the opening night and left everyone thoroughly unimpressed. Even the Gamescom schedule is bad... Aaron Greenburg did warn us not be to impressed, and it seems even he overstated how unexciting it was. For starters where was the release date for Halo Infinite? Then we just saw games we knew about with Forza Horizon 5 being the standout of the show. 
Quake is now out on Xbox and yes, you should be playing it. Jump into Quake. Start up Quake. Love Quake! 
 
Amongst all this, other news did happen. You'll just have to listen to find out about it! 
 
Don't forget that this year for #terrorTober we're playing The Witcher 3! We mention it because #back2YourBacklog is wrapping up, and we like to stay relevant.

#GameFace! We‘re better than 12K, Kyle!

Because we're better than 12K! 
 
We're still neck deep in #back2YourBacklog. And that means we're spending all our gaming hours on one particular game. Well, most of us... Guess who isn't following the rules again... 
Lee makes a good case for why The Ascent is a GOTY contender, and finds out why running towards enemies is not a good strategy for a long life. 
Simone is still keeping everything under Control, but also noticed how the game doesn't follow it's own rules at times. And who would have guessed that turning a light on and off would magic you into all the special rooms! 
Kyle is still enamored with Scarlet Nexus. Seriously! Buy this game if you're a Final Fantasy fan. Or an anime fan. Or an action game fan. Just buy it and play it and love it! 
 
And we also have some other games that have distracted us this week... As per normal. At this stage, you should know that we just like the shiny...
